In its third year of establishment, the Philanthropy Committee focuses solely on The Fashion Show’s philanthropic efforts. With the help of their committee, Philanthropy Directors Natalie Rock, Emily DeDoncker, and Clarissa Hoffman focus on further educating the Ames community and campus about the meaning of philanthropy and work to expand the impact and reach of The Fashion Show’s philanthropic efforts.

This year the philanthropy team advanced its partnership with Hug Hats and Dress for Successand launched a new partnership with the local food pantry on campus, The SHOP. Hug Hats was a tremendous success as they were able to design a goal of 150 unique hats with the help of volunteers across the entire TFS team. They received an abundance of clothing donations from students and staff across the entire Ames community to host a thrift market event in support to raise monetary donations for Dress Success Des Moines and donate excess clothes to the non-profit organization ACCESS, which offers services for survivors of abuse and those in housing crisis.

Next up, Philanthropy is collaborating alongside Fashion Week to raise awareness towards the student-run food pantry, The SHOP, located right on campus, by collecting donations all throughout Fashion Week and educating Iowa State students about this amazing organization!
